Are Pianists Smarter?

ARE PIANISTS SMARTER?
A group of scientists believe they are. A study conducted in Germany on two groups; one of non-musicians and another of pianists, pitted the two groups against each other in a series of challenges.

The two groups were asked to perform sequences of complex finger exercises or movements. While the exercises were being performed the participants were hooked up to a MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machine. The machine was attached to the participant's heads to measure brain response.

What the scientists found was surprising. Both groups could perform the activities with the same amount of success. However the MRI report showed very different brain responses in the two groups. Simply speaking the pianists could complete the exercises correctly with less brain activation than the group of non-musicians.

From this we can see that piano player's brains are more efficient. This is further evidence that learning a musical instrument can enhance your brain function.

At long last!

I've heard this on the radio quite a lot and been wondering what's the title since I know the song but I can't remember the title and artist. Right now, I was actually craving to hear some music to sort of to relax and calm my mind. Then I was humming this song. I Yahoo!'d it but no worthy results came out and tried a lot of times until I found it! Finally! After hearing and watching this, I felt so happy and relaxed!:) I love the sound of the piano and the cello!:) After hearing this music, I was tempted to play the piano!!!

Anyways, enough about this. I haven't been updating for quite a long time!:) I'm super busy with work. I'm not sure pa if I'll stay long here in this company. I sort of like it already but I feel like promotions are slow and I really wanted to try my luck in branding:) But we'll see...

In fairness, After seeing the output through the Megamall Department Store branch, I felt so happy and wow-ed! :) Thinking that collaterals looked plain whenever they got delivered in our office. When placed into their proper places, they look quite different.:)

I've always believed that there is no perfect life. I might be enjoying/doing pretty well in my work but it is also the time that I have been worrying about a lot of things. I'm not as happy as I used to be when it comes to the other stuff. Well, I just hope everything will turn out okay soon:)

String Quartet Tribute to Norah Jones

After listening to the String Quartet Tribute songs, I decided to download them. Why? I love the sound of violins, double bass and other instruments. It eases my mind and I just love them. I miss playing the piano whenever I head violins etc. I was actually trying to find Tribute to U2. But unfortunately, I couldn't find any. So I settled for a Norah Jones Tribute. It's soooo nice:) If this were nice here, what more if it was live!!!

Try to download it, it's really nice:D By the way, if you liked it, Why don't you come for the DLSU Chamber Ensemble's major concert. I wanted to go, but I'm not sure if I can:) It's going to be at DLSU. Gotta go!!

P.S. I don't usually listen to music using earphones but this really is nice with earphones :)
